Searching the logs is now faster in most cases Iguana 4.5 now uses an index-based search to handle most of its search requests. This search is significantly faster than the search used in older versions of Iguana. The older search method is still provided if needed. For more details, see Searching the Logs.
The Search Criteria panel for the Logs screen has been made easier to use In Iguana 4.5, the Search Criteria panel for the Logs screen has been streamlined. The Time Range specifiers now only appear if you select the Time Range check box: In addition, a new calendar icon, , enables the display of the calendar. These changes make time range searching easier to use.
The Logs screen now defines a "current log message" In Iguana 4.5, the Logs screen now indicates that a specific log message is the current log message. This log message has a green background: For more information on navigating the logs screen, see Viewing the Logs.
Log message details can now be displayed in multiple view modes at once and on remote computers You can now display log message details in a separate browser window on either your computer or a remote computer. This enables you to do the following:

You can now download a logged message to a file Iguana 4.5 makes it possible for you to download a logged message to a file. To do this, follow the instructions in Viewing Log Message Details to display the detailed log message, then click . The downloaded message is saved in text format.
The log message details view mode is now selectable from a drop-down menu In Iguana 4.5, the view modes that are available for viewing log message details are now provided in a drop-down menu, instead of as separate buttons: For more information on selecting the view mode for log message details, see Selecting the Log Message View Mode.
Tables in graphical format are now displayed more clearly in the Logs screen If you are viewing log message details in the Logs screen, and you specify Table View (Graphical) as the view mode, the table data is now displayed in a format that is easier to view: For more information, see Viewing Table Data Generated From a Message.
The segments of a logged message and their values can now be examined in detail For any message that has been logged by Iguana, you can now view the field names and values of any segment contained in the message. In addition, if the message was generated by a channel whose destination component is To Database, you can view the segment grammar of the message definition that matched the message. For more details, see Viewing Segments of a Logged Message.
SQL statements in the SQL View in Logs screen are now colorized, and line wrapping is supported If you are viewing details and you have selected the SQL View, the displayed SQL text is now colorized, which makes it easier to read. Also, you can now click to turn line wrapping on or off: For more details, see Viewing the Generated SQL Statements.
Message resubmitting has been made easier to use In Iguana 4.5, the log message resubmit screen now contains Edit and Preview panels that enable you to edit and preview a message at the same time. This makes message resubmission easier: For more information, see Resubmitting a Single Message.
Buttons allow you to move to the top or bottom of the list of log messages The Logs screen now includes two new buttons, and , that enable you to move to the start or the end of the list of log messages: For more information, see Viewing the Logs.
Non-displayable characters are now highlighted when viewing a message in hexadecimal format If you are displaying the detailed view of a log message and you are viewing the message in Hex-dump view mode, non-displayable characters are highlighted in the following colors:
In previous versions of Iguana, the only highlighted character was the carriage return character (which is 0D in hexadecimal notation). For more information on log message view modes, see Selecting the Log Message View Mode. The message limit for logged messages has been removed In Iguana 4.5, logged messages can be any size, as the previous limit of 1 MB has been removed. The Logs window will scroll large messages if needed, and any log message can be downloaded to a file. Note that this means that the log file format has been changed for version 4.5. Older versions of Iguana will not be able to read log files created using version 4.5.
