In Iguana 4.0 or later, you use the Filter component of the channel to specify transformation and translation operations. In this step of this tutorial, you will use the Filter to specify that you want to translate messages from XML format to HL7.

To configure the Filter:

• Click the Filter tab.

• Select the Use filter check box. This displays fields that enable you to configure the filter:

• In the Full filter VMD path field, specify the absolute path to the message definition file that you created in Step 2. This file will be used to perform the XML to HL7 conversion. (The same file can be used to convert from XML to HL7 and from HL7 to XML.)

• From the Transformation mode list box, select XML to HL7.

• Leave the other fields unchanged.
