The following instructions enable you to install Iguana 4.0 or later in a production environment that is currently running Iguana 3.3. These instructions enable you to install Iguana while minimizing the amount of downtime.

To install Iguana 4.0 or later in a production environment, it is best to do the following:

• Install Iguana on a development (test) machine;
• Update your VMD files to work properly in this development environment, and save all VMD and configuration files using a version control system;
• On your production machine, check out the VMD and configuration files that you have just checked in from your development machine;
• Install the new version of Iguana on the production machine;
• Stop the channels on the Iguana 3.3 server and start them on the new Iguana server.

	If you install Iguana 4.0 or later manually on a system on which Iguana 3.3.2 is already installed, you may experience problems running plugins on your Iguana 4.0 server.
