In this example, a hospital that specializes in elective surgery for celebrities and other wealthy patients is using Iguana to extract patient information from incoming ADT^A04 (Register a Patient) messages and write it to a database. These incoming messages contain a custom segment, ZVP, that indicates whether the patient is a VIP that needs special treatment:
If the field in the ZVP segment is set to 1, the incoming patient is a VIP. The following sections describe how to modify the VMD file for the To Database destination component of this channel to write a log message when a VIP is admitted, and how to define an email notification rule to send an email message when this log message is detected.
