In this section of the tutorial, you will use Chameleon to build a simple, but operational, client application that generates messages (containing dummy data) and sends them over a network to a recipient.

The generated classes discussed in the previous section will be used in this application, but you will require several additional components. Minimally, you will need:

• Specific logic for filling the message's tables with data prior to generation;
• A means of sending outgoing messages over a network; and
• A means of receiving from the message recipient an acknowledgement that the message was safely delivered (a courtesy required by the HL7 standard).

Rather than writing the client application from scratch, you can use Chameleon to generate most of the code that you need.

	This sample client application is atypical: applications that generate HL7 messages usually do not have user interfaces. These applications are usually services that extract data from databases, generate HL7 messages, and transmit these messages over a network.
