To ensure your data is being translated using the selected XML translation scheme, you can look at the XML file that was created when the HL7 message was transmitted by the HL7 Simulator to your channel.

To check the XML file:

• Go to the directory in which your XML output file has been written. (You specified this directory when you defined the To File destination component of the channel.) In this directory, you should see a file named output_0.xml.

• Open the output_0.xml file and verify that the output matches the XML translation scheme that you specified in the VMD file.

You have now created and tested a channel that translates HL7 messages to XML. In the next step, you will create a channel that translates the message from XML back to HL7.
