Most customers can stop reading at this point. The following information is only useful in some circumstances for our support staff in troubleshooting issues with customer unix systems. Unfortunately, some C++ compilers do not correctly implement exceptions for a shared library that Java requires for support. This has been a problem with the GNU compiler on the Solaris platform and on some Linux distributions. On those platforms, an exception results in a segmentation fault and core dump. This section of the manual explains how to test your compiler to see that it is adequate to support Chameleon. |
