To configure the optional channel details:

• In the Database username and Database password fields, type in the username and password required for access to the database. This would have been set by the database administrator. In some cases these two fields may be left blank. However, if the specified source uses username authentication, these two fields must be filled in.
• In the Number of database reconnection attempts field, specify the number of times you want Iguana to try and reconnect to the database during channel startup, if an initial connection could not be made. 0 means no additional attempts are made, while -1 means that there is no limit to the number of reconnection attempts.
• In the Reconnection interval field, specify the number of milliseconds between reconnection attempts.
• Check the Start Automatically option if you want the channel to start automatically whenever Iguana is started. During initial setup it is better to leave this option unchecked so that the channel does not start before it is tested and everything is ready. In a production environment you would usually have this checked to start automatically.
• Check the Send Email on Error option if you want Iguana to notify you each time an error occurs. These settings must be configured from the Advanced tab and are explained in detail below.
• In the Automatically purge success logs older than field, specify when the success logs are stale and can be deleted. 0 means error logs will never be automatically purged.

Configuring the Optional Channel Details

	The Email Server Settings are global settings, meaning they will affect all running channels in Iguana.

• If you checked the Send Email on Error option, fill in the Email Server Settings. Since these settings are global, you only have to configure them once:

Click the Advanced tab in the Dashboard. The Advanced page appears.

Click the Email Server Settings link at the bottom of the page. The Email Server Settings page appears.

Fill in all the details, as shown below (separate multiple email addresses using a comma):

• Click Apply Changes to confirm your changes.
• Click Test Email Settings to send a test email to the recipient email addresses, otherwise, proceed to the next section.
