This documentation page describes a feature of version 3.3 of Iguana. In Iguana 4.0 and later, client executables are called plugins. See Writing a Plugin for more information on plugins in Iguana 4.0 and later.

The next step is to configure the From Client Executable source component:

• In the Full executable path field, type the complete pathname and filename of your client executable. If you do not know this information yet, you can edit the channel later to add it.
• In the Full executable working directory field, type the working directory for your client executable. For this example, use the directory that you used for the Full executable path field (leaving out the filename portion).
• In the Polling time field, type the time in milliseconds that Iguana will wait before checking for a new incoming message from the client executable.
• In the RPC timeout field, type the time in milliseconds before an error is logged.
• In the Startup timeout field, type the time in milliseconds that Iguana will wait for a connection from the executable after it has been started.
• In the Shutdown timeout field, type the time in milliseconds that Iguana will wait for the executable to shut down after a shutdown request has been issued.
• From the Iguana starts executable list box, select false: until the client executable is successfully written and debugged, you will not want Iguana to automatically start the client executable when the channel is started.

	Once the client executable has been proven to work, you can change the value of the Iguana starts executable list box to true. This tells Iguana to start the client executable when it starts the channel.
