This section shows you how to install Iguana 4.0 or later in Windows from the command line prompt. You can configure this installation program to install Iguana automatically (or silently) without requiring user input.

	This installation procedure can only be used to install Iguana 4.0 or later. Earlier versions of Iguana cannot be installed in this way.

To install Iguana silently:

• Close Chameleon if it is running.
• Open a Command Prompt window.
• In this window, set the current directory to the directory that contains the Iguana installation program.
• Type iguana_windows.exe /S to start the automatic installation. The /S option indicates that the installation is to proceed silently.

This installation process uninstalls any existing copy of Iguana and removes its registry entry, desktop icon and start menu shortcut. It then installs a new version of Iguana and creates a registry entry, a desktop icon and a start menu shortcut.

	If an error occurs during installation, the reason for the error is written to a text file named install_error.log, which is then automatically opened. An example of a typical error message is: Warning: Port 6543 is already in use by another application Iguana service is installed but did not start Refer to the online manual for instructions on how to resolve configuration conflicts

When installing Iguana silently, you can specify the following options:

• The /DIRECTORY="directory" option specifies the directory into which Iguana is to be installed. If this directory does not exist, the installation will fail silently. The default directory is C:\Program FIles\iNTERFACEWARE\Iguana.
• The /PORT="port" option sets the port that Iguana will use. The default port is 6543.
• The /LOG="path" option specifies the directory for Iguana's log files. The default directory is the logs subdirectory of the directory containing the Iguana files, such as C:\Program Files\iNTERFACEWARE\Iguana\logs.
• The /CHAMELEON=1 option specifies that Chameleon is also to be installed. If this option is specified, any existing copy of Chameleon is uninstalled, along with its registry entry, desktop icon and start menu shortcut. A new version of Chameleon is then installed, along with a registry entry, a desktop icon and a start menu shortcut.

To obtain a list of the available options, type iguana_windows.exe /?.

For example, the following command silently installs Iguana with port 7777 and log directory D:\Iguana Files\logs:

iguana_windows.exe /S /PORT="7777" /LOG="D:\Iguana Files\logs"

	If the port specified by the /PORT option is in use or the directory specified by /LOG is not accessible, Iguana will be installed but will not start.
