On occasion, it is possible for Visual C++ to get very slow. What may happen periodically is that some of the working files may become corrupted. Fortunately, this problem can be solved easily. To solve this issue:
This will completely clean out all the intermediate files from your project directory. You can then rebuild your project and the performance of Visual C++ will be back to normal.
