Chameleon has a number of capabilities for transforming one HL7 format to another. One of these techniques is using scripted transformation. This provides very fast transformation capability, resulting in much less mapping code if the transformation only involves changing a subset of the total fields. You can also modify entire segments (i.e. remove them entirely, add new segments, etc.).
