The Quality Assurance Engineer is responsible for maintaining the quality of the interfacing effort on an ongoing basis. One of their primary functions is making sure that test environments are installed and that upgrades to either Chameleon or Iguana are carried out smoothly. They are responsible for ensuring that the core messaging infrastructure established initially by the Primary Integration Engineer is routinely regression tested (this is especially critical when a pure Chameleon SDK approach has been adopted). It is usually best to keep this role separate from the Primary Integration Engineer role as this is an ongoing operational role, whereas the Primary Integration Engineer role is generally not. This role can, however, be satisfactorily merged with the Trainer role. |
