Step 4 - Creating the Channel |
Now that you have a VMD file that detects duplicate messages, you will need to create a channel that filters the messages and ignores the duplicates:
- In the Iguana Dashboard screen, click Add Channel.
- From the Source and Destination list boxes, select the source component and destination component for your channel.
- Click Configure Channel.
- In the Channel name field, type the name of the channel (for example, duplicatetest).
- Click the Filter tab and select the Use filter check box.
- In the Full filter VMD path field, type or browse for the location of the VMD file that you have just created.
- In the Ignored messages field, type DuplicateMessage.
- Click Add Ignored Message. The Filter tab now indicates that messages that match the DuplicateMessage message definition are to be ignored:
- Click the Source tab. Update the fields in the source component of the channel as required.
- Click the Destination tab. Update the fields in the destination component of the channel as required.
- Click Add Channel to add the channel.
When you start the channel and send the test messages through it, the second message is recognized as a duplicate. A note is added to the logs, indicating that a duplicate message has been ignored:
Your channel is now ready for use, as duplicate messages are being successfully ignored.
