Did You Know? Chameleon's Transformation Window is useful for testing mappings and other areas of your message generation VMD file. For more information, see Using the Transformation Window For Testing Mappings, Outbound Messages and Outbound Python Scripts.

To test the changes:

• Once you are finished making the changes, save the VMD file.
• In the Iguana Dashboard, stop the channel you created.
• Click the channel name of the channel you just stopped. The Channel Configuration screen appears.
• In the Full generator VMD path field, type the path of the VMD you just saved, and click Apply Changes. If you saved the VMD file using the name you used in Step 1 - Setting Up the VMD File, skip to the next step.
• Start the Iguana channel.
• Return to your database, and open the PatientRegister status table. It contains two columns: MESSAGE_ID and STATUS. If you performed the test in Step 3, the STATUS column should contain SUCCESS:

• Change the value of the STATUS column from SUCCESS to W. This tells Iguana to send the message again.
• In the HL7 Listener, examine the generated message:

As you can see, the Message Control ID and the version information are now generated.
